Having recorded as Remnants since 2010, artist, musician, and filmmaker Ryan Marino presents us with his first work under his birth name. Fans of his work as Remnants will find much to enjoy with "In the Atmosphere". Here, Marino strips back some of the dusty layers and distills his sonic palette to spare, slowly progressing synth tones and warm tape hiss. "In the Atmosphere" is a remarkably immersive work that asks the listener to submit to its very deliberate pacing. As the liner notes indicate, headphones are recommended, as the stereo channels are each different and tend to merge when listening on speakers.
